... What I Overlooked This Summer ...

This past week it hit me that we had not made chicken kabobs on the grill this summer. I was so upset with myself for overlooking this amazing meal all summer.

While at market on Tuesday, I grabbed my peppers and onions and I was set. We marinated the chicken and the veggies in Annie's Naturals Organic Roasted Garlic salad dressing (side note: this is the best marinade - for some unknown reason to us, it makes chicken VERY tender - check it out here). I always have a bottle on hand for when I am in a pinch for dinner or in the case the other night, need a marinade.

Everything only marinated a few hours but was still very yummy.

I think the second best thing about kabobs on the grill (besides the taste) is the way they look - so pretty. And of course they are healthy too!

What are your favorite meals to make on the grill?

Fair Season

Last week, we headed to our first fair this season... I don't know about the rest of the world, but there is nothing like going to a fair with your hubby and baby...

Of course, the best part of fair season is the FOOD!!! My tastes buds are watering just thinking about it but my waist line is telling me to STOP!

We hit our first fair 2 times last week and enjoyed french fries (the staple fair food), fried veggies (could life get any better) and a funnel cake (oh my stars)! The food was amazing and this was evident considering we got the same food both nights.
After stuffing our faces, I mean eating dinner, we headed over to a small petting zoo they had set up for kids. There were a bunch of sheep and goats for the kids to walk around with and pet. We didn't take punky into the area but stood outside the fence and enjoyed it all the same.

I think this is one of the best pics I have ever taken - Every time I look at it I just have to smile - how stinkin cute?!?!?!

I know it looks like he probably pooped his pants right then and there but I assure you, he did not!

Looking back, I am SO happy I snapped this pic when I did and captured this moment!

Hello to the blogging world!

Hi - my name is Brie and back in February, my husband and I bought a small family owned business called Amish Family Recipes. Life didn't only get busy with the addition of a new business - we also had our first child at the end of March. Things have settled down quite a bit since then but "punky" (we'll use that name to chat about our baby) and the business keep us movin and groovin!

We decided to get into the blogging world to meet and connect with more people. One of our favorite things to do is chat with people, get to know them, their story, etc... So we're hoping we can accomplish that through this blog.

I will be the main person writing but you may see a goofy post every now and again from my hubby! We have lots of fun ideas and recipes that we want to share with all of you, some with our products and some without. I'll also keep you updated on punky's life and developments... he is 5 months old now and is just so much fun.

So if your still reading this, THANK YOU!  :)  We hope you'll become a follower and check out our blog on a regular basis for recipes, food ideas, punky updates, thoughts about life in general, etc...
